Launched in 2018, Birth Class Online offered high quality childbirth education over the internet long before it was cool. It’s another project by me, Andrea Lythgoe, who also is running this doula survey. I interviewed myself like I did any other sponsor, it got a bit weird when my husband asked why I was talking to myself.
Tell me about you.
I would much rather be busy than bored, and I have a wide variety of interests. I have worked as a doula, childbirth educator, birth photographer and have done belly casting. And that is just the birth stuff!
I live in Utah, I have a great husband and three adult daughters. My daughters are all redheads like me. Redheaded girls are kind of my specialty. Just ask my redheaded girl cat! I love to travel, take photos using weird photography techniques, and bake on cold, gray days.

I have several! But Birth Class Online is the one sponsoring this survey.
Birth Class Online has several different options for families preparing for a new baby:
- Completely online class taken independently
- Online class with email support and a 2 hour online private video session
- Online mini class with a one night online group session
The classes are filled with good information in an interactive format. Some classes come with a box of materials for the learning activities in the courses.
What is your most popular product? What do customers like about it?
My Anytime Class that comes with 8 modules, a box of activity props, and a 2 hour online session with me.
What product in your catalog do you think is underappreciated?
My smaller bundles, like my Natural Birth Bundle. They have online content for independent learning and are a good value.
What advice do you have for a new doula and/or for doulas who want to revitalize their business?
Pay attention to the business side. Yes, it is important to provide excellent service to your clients, but it’s also important to ensure your business is not draining your family, and that potential clients can find you easily.
